Congrats for the frontpage. Such an awesome piece. I love the change of pace/tempo and scale through out the track. very original, especially for a hybrid track.

All the picoday submissions are frontpaged-- small selection this year. Thanks for your help and feedback.

Very fitting the artwork. I wish there was more development between the parts tho. Interesting how you keep it very cinematic. That bass in the background is dope as fuck. Sad to see the ending is lack of elements to get it pumped up. This track had a lot of potential if you add transition here and there. I do enjoy this one. Good job dude.

well I tried my best but there is still a long journey ahead of me :)

OMFG YOU JUST DROPPED DA NUKE! (no pun intended)

What you kidding me bro? this piece is going to win so hard it will knock everything else in the path. The production and quality overall is above and beyond. Thank goodness I listened to this in the noon time, else I would have all my hair on the body stood up at midnight. And I'm listening to this on loop, that's something.

I have heard Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima before this piece (in Children of Men), but I do believe your rivals that piece. Mind melting work. The amount of detail is amusing. Damn I ran out of vocabularies to describe this...

i don't want to sound like a wimp but this piece brought back some dark memories. Sometime I wish I could undo my life and start over again, erasing all these unpleasant memories. but i can't.

thank you for this mindblowing track.

Phonometrologist responds:

I actually hope it doesn’t win, because I don’t want to offend anyone if a non-tonal piece places over other tracks that are. But also, judging music in general is hard to do since it has many points of personal opinion and tastes, but by adding to it an aleatoric piece makes judging it even less quantifiable. Thank you for the endearing remarks. However, I can’t ever put myself in a position next to Penderecki as he envisioned and created this style. The laurel wreath remains upon him as the creation can never surpass its creator. At a technical stand point, I emailed 8Dio that we still need a library that could change in oscillation in realtime of the string’s tremolo like in "Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima.” Also, In “Threnody…” the tone clusters has different string players resolve to microtones. We are still far from achieving complete control of what a string player can do in a performance. But then again, the argument would be that these companies are only interested in creating libraries for commercial use.

very psychedelic feel and chilling. i love how you always try out something new!

etherealwinds responds:

I get bored too easily is what it is. Thanks for listening and reviewing :)

do you use a noise generator or just data bending from audio editor? i like how the noises aren't random and seem to be quite orderly.

EthiopianPolice responds:

I record audio actual room audio and stuff and then play with it in audacity basically. For the beginning, I recorded a brief song and really slowed it down and such

your shit is so amazing, did you know that?

ABoyWithABalloon responds:

Thanksman you guys give me some hope <3

Didn't know you submit a 2nd track. pretty chilling work dude. nice job as usual.

Everratic responds:

Thank you!

It's like a cross of Zelda and Ori and the Blind Forest soundtrack. I hope this get frontpaged. It's very chill and folky like. Amazing how you used mostly Factory Selection for this. :O Like Lich said, it's amazing. Great job dude!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

That's a wonderful compliment! To have my piece compared to the music of Zelda and Ori, is quite an honor :O
I doubt this'll get frontpaged, but I'm really glad you like it!
I used the fatory library, not the selection, but they are similar! They're alright, but definitely not as easy to use (nor as great) as some other instruments out there :D

Thank you ^ ^

rad work. i think you got it there!

DESHIEL responds:

Thanks man. I am thinking about expanding it. :)

Exceptionally impressive nearly 5 minutes of work. The quality is top notch as usual. And the most favorite part of all your track are production and structure of the piece. Massive choirs and vocals, which is what make this piece stood out the most. This is something to be expected from professional composers with live orchestra, such as Two Steps From Hell or Immediate Music. But I guess you are already there! Over and above all impressively how you managed to create such realistic work with mere software.

The build ups and climaxes are the best treat here. Love the story-telling moment and movement you have here. When it ended, took me a while to realize it did. Listened to this on loops few more times and it gets better every time. That's how epic this piece.

Excellent top work as usual. Looking forward for more works like this in the future. I think you can do much more awesome on every new work.

SoundChris responds:

Thanks a lot man! I dont even know what to say - your review is just too kind :) To be compared to guys like 2SFH is just ... omg! I always try to improve but i am aware that there are stil lots of issues and things to imrpove. I think my biggest problem is stil the mixing and mastering / production in general. Its so damn hard in all that chaos to get things as clean and bright as possible. Things always tend to become muddy but thats a common problem when using orchestral libraries in a too dense arrangement.

Thanks so much for your kind review - hope to talk soon!

If you can't reach me in time for permission, feel free to go ahead use my work anyway.
